A Renowned Swine Production Expert Joins Jyga Technologies' European Team
Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, Canada — Jyga Technologies is proud to announce the arrival of Mr. Sylvain Longchamps as Sales Director for its European division. With more than 33 years of experience in swine production, Mr. Longchamps will bring to the team a unique combination of technical expertise, strategic vision and his distinctive human approach.
A Key Role in Supporting European Growth
In his new position, Sylvain Longchamps succeeds Elmar Moormann, who is currently transitioning to retirement. He will ensure the continuity of sales in Europe while developing new markets. He particularly aims to introduce European producers to the potential of GESTAL feeding systems designed for finishing, and to strengthen Jyga Technologies’ reputation as a world specialist in precision feeding.
A Career Guided by Passion
Holder of a bachelor’s degree in bio-agronomy and animal production from Université Laval, Sylvain quickly specialized in swine production. He began his career at duBreton, well known in Canada for pork production and processing, before being recruited by PIC France, where he managed the genetic nucleus and supervised several farms for thirteen years. He also participated in launching several major projects in Russia before founding his own swine production consulting firm. Always close to the field, Sylvain settled in Ukraine, where he continued to work closely with producers. He had the opportunity to participate in projects across Eastern Europe, mainly in Ukraine and Russia.
A Long-standing Collaboration with Jyga Technologies
In parallel, it was in 2008 that he met Alain Lefebvre, co-owner of Jyga Technologies, during a tradeshow. Convinced by the value of the GESTAL feeding systems, he contributed to the sale of approximately 2,000 GESTAL FM systems in Russia in the following years.
A Shared Passion for Feeding the Future
In his meetings with producers, Sylvain uses his experience to engage in practical discussions about precision feeding. His background, firmly rooted in the reality of farms, allows him to approach each discussion with a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of swine operations. His exchanges are concrete, relevant, and always focused on improving practices and herd performance.
Jyga Technologies: Swine Feeding Systems for Farrowing and Gestating Sows
Celebrating 30 years of innovation and leadership in 2024, Jyga Technologies was the first company to design and manufacture automated feeding systems for pigs. These systems ensure an ideal daily feed intake for sows, leading to excellent results. In addition to the GESTAL feeding system, the company develops VISION software and the ROBUST equipment line at its headquarters in Canada. New products are rigorously tested at its 2,200-sow experimental farm to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
With offices in Germany and the USA, Jyga Technologies distributes its precision feeding systems worldwide through an extensive network of distributors and knowledgeable technical experts.
